Hello there. It's been a while. I hope this finds you safe, well and managing during the strange times we find ourselves in. As with so many people, my life is more or less on hold and in flux. Reading has been hard. Writing even harder. There have been adjustments and loss. But there is still so much to share...here is my latest writing news.
Hexham Book Festival Commission When I won this commission, I could never have imagined the circumstances under which I'd have to deliver it. I've written little since but am thrilled with the outcome. My story touches on folklore, climate change and belonging. You can read it here alongside three more brand new pieces of work. Do let me know what you think.
Since lockdown, my writing groups have moved online. After some adjustments, we started working on a responsive project. Today, I began publishing brand new work by members of the group. A new piece will be published every other day, and I hope the project will continue with submissions from other writers. You can read the first piece here. Follow me on Twitter for regular updates.
Adapting to an online practice has been a challenge. But, as with everything, it's getting there. My very first online workshop based on the writing forward project is Wednesday 1st July. This is the first in a regular series of themed sessions aimed at writers of all abilities. My sessions are friendly and safe spaces. It would be lovely to see you there.
Thank you to everyone who has kept in touch & helped me keep going...there have been more than a few bumps in the road. Keep writing & get in touch if you need anything...
